King James 6&1

Introducing...James Stuart

James was born on 19th June 1566 in Edinburgh Castle.  He lived around the time of William Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh and Galileo.  James had a troubled childhood and was crowned King of Scotland when he was only 13 months old.  James was brought up by regents and never knew his mother, Mary Queen of Scots.  When James was 20 years old, his mother was tried for treason and beheaded.

James’ story becomes more intriguing as he grows older.  Not only was he King of Scotland – he was also crowned King of England in 1603.  His story made history.
