Each of the Activity Zones on Bibleworld Mobile is designed to work within the Curriculum for Excellence.
The Library introduces pupils to the Bible as a library of books containing different types of literature, including poetry, history and letters. Pupils explore the content of the Bible, its languages and the ways it is communicated today.
The Museum helps pupils discover the different ways in which the Bible has been passed down in history. Pupils follow the development of writing from cuneiform script to today’s desktop publishing. Activities include operating an old-style printing press and designing a manuscript.
The Quiz Zone uses video clips from The Miracle Maker to engage pupils in an interactive quiz. The clips are a parable of Jesus and a story from the Gospels about the resurrection of Jesus. A second activity helps pupils learn about some of the Christian festivals.
The Aeroplane reveals some of the work of the Bible Society around the world. Pupils learn about the use and spread of the Bible in China, Ethiopia and Brazil and are given the task of "reporting back" on each of these countries by completing the notes in their workbooks.
The Spaceship uses the Bible’s narrative to transport pupils back in time to look at the creation of planet earth and the solar system. Through quizzes and questionnaires pupils discover ways to look after our world.
The Music Zone tests pupils’ knowledge of Bible stories helped with ‘musical clues’. Pupils are also introduced to a range of musical styles by which Christians express their faith in the world today.
