'King of Books' is an interactive primary resource. It's full of information about the 1600s,
King James, The KJV and The Gunpowder Plot.
Downloadable (or held on one CD-Rom), the programme also brings lots of supporting worksheets and ideas to help build a cross curricular project around the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible.
If you are unable to complete the above download, contact Fiona to receive your free copy. fiona.mcgill@scottishbiblesociety.org
Subject areas covered: Literacy & English, Social
Studies, and RME all fit snugly into the theme of the KJV. Our interactive resource allows children to
explore:
- fashion, homes, jobs and school
in the 1600s
- who King James VI of Scotland was,
and how he became king of 2 countries
- the creation of the King James Version
of the Bible
- what the gunpowder plot was all about.
Subjects
can be considered individually or as a whole
project. We have created oodles
of worksheets that support learning and encourage creativity in writing
and design. There are separate sections for level 2 and level
3 learners, and worksheets have been adapted to suit both levels of
competency.
The teachers section gives forward plans and one-click access to specific parts of the resource. We even have a KJV song that was written especially for us by Stephen Fischbacher of Fischy Music, which can be accessed through this section. www.fischy.com
The resource is available by contacting Fiona via email. We will post out your ‘King of Books’ resource free of charge (UK only).
